1. What Baarista Is

Baarista is a listing platform that connects baristas with coffee shops and cafés in South Africa. We provide the space for baristas to post profiles and for employers to post jobs and see who applies. That is the extent of our role.

We are a middleman, not a party to any arrangement made between a barista and an employer. We do not employ baristas, we are not an employer or staffing agency, and we are not involved in interviews, hiring decisions, pay, shifts, contracts, or any other term of work agreed between users.

2. No Vetting or Guarantees

We do not verify the identity, qualifications, background, references, or trustworthiness of any barista or employer on the platform, and we do not verify the accuracy of any profile, job listing, or message exchanged between users.

It's up to you to do your own due diligence before agreeing to any job, shift, or hire — the same as you would for any opportunity found outside the platform.

3. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Baarista takes no responsibility for, and will not be liable for, any dispute, loss, damage, or claim arising from or relating to:

• Any employment, contract, or working relationship formed between users
• Non-payment, underpayment, or payment disputes of any kind
• No-shows, missed shifts, or unfulfilled job listings
• The conduct, actions, or omissions of any barista or employer
• The accuracy or completeness of any profile, listing, or message
• Any loss of income, opportunity, or business arising from use of the platform

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

4. Your Responsibility

Any agreement you make with another user — a job offer, a shift, a rate of pay — is strictly between you and that other user. You are responsible for complying with all applicable South African labour laws (including minimum wage and any sectoral determinations) that apply to your arrangement, and for resolving any dispute directly with the other party. Baarista is not obligated to, but may at its discretion, help facilitate contact between disputing users.

5. Account Conduct

You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login credentials secure, and not use the platform to post false listings, harass other users, or engage in unlawful activity. We may suspend or remove any account or listing at our discretion.

6. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
