Is Baarista free to use?
Yes! Creating an account and browsing jobs is completely free for baristas. Employers can post jobs and browse barista profiles at no cost.
Which areas does Baarista cover?
Baarista operates across all 9 provinces of South Africa. You can find opportunities in major cities like Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Pretoria, and many more.
For Baristas
How do I create a barista profile?
Simply sign up with your email or Google account, select 'Barista' as your role, and complete your profile with your experience, skills, and availability.
How do I apply for jobs?
Browse available jobs, click on any listing that interests you, and click 'Apply'. You can include a cover letter to stand out to employers.
What should I include in my profile?
Include your experience level, skills (like latte art, espresso making), availability, expected hourly rate, and a brief bio about yourself. A complete profile helps employers find you.
Can I set my own hourly rate?
Yes! You can set your expected hourly rate in your profile. This helps employers understand your expectations before reaching out.
For Employers
How do I post a job?
Sign up as an employer, complete your business profile, then click 'Post a Job'. Fill in the job details including title, description, location, hourly rate, and shift type.
How do I manage applications?
Go to your employer dashboard to see all applications. You can review each applicant's profile, accept or reject applications, and message candidates directly.
Can I search for baristas?
Yes! Use the 'Find Baristas' feature to browse verified barista profiles. Filter by location, experience, hourly rate, and ratings.
How do I contact a barista?
Once you find a barista you're interested in, you can message them directly through our secure messaging system.
Verification
What does 'Verified' mean?
Verified baristas have passed our skills assessment, confirming their coffee knowledge and abilities. Verified profiles are more visible and trusted by employers.
How do I get verified?
Go to the Verification section in your dashboard, complete the online assessment, and if you pass, you'll receive the verified badge on your profile.
How long does verification last?
Verification is valid for one year from the date you pass the assessment. You can renew it before it expires.
Reviews & Ratings
How do ratings work?
After completing a job, both baristas and employers can rate each other. Ratings help build trust and reputation on the platform.
Can I dispute a rating?
If you believe a rating is unfair, contact our support team. We review disputes on a case-by-case basis.
Messaging
Is messaging secure?
Yes, all messages are private between you and the other party. We never share your personal contact information without your consent.
Will I be notified of new messages?
Yes! You'll see a notification badge when you have unread messages. You can also enable push notifications in your settings.
Account & Payment
How do I delete my account?
Contact our support team at support@baarista.co.za to request account deletion. Note that this action cannot be undone.
Does Baarista handle payments?
No, Baarista does not process payments between employers and baristas. Payment terms are agreed upon directly between parties.
